Certified Organic Produce

Fresh from our fields

Farming is an adventure. Our adventure started with growing on an acre and a half our first year.  We have been continuously learning as we go.

Most of the seeds we use are certified organic.  We do use some conventionally produced seeds when a certified organic source is not available.  We never use GMO or non-OMRI approved treated seeds.

Most of our transplants are started here on the farm.  Others such as strawberries and sweet potato slips are purchased from organic sources.

Thanks to the USDA NRCS we were able to purchase and install a high tunnel.  Our high tunnel is gothic style plastic covered structure measuring 95' x 24'.  Our high tunnel is made from steel and local cypress lumber; no pressure treated lumber was used.

The high tunnel allows us to extend the harvest into the winter months as well as getting a jump on the spring season.

In 2013 we were also awarded a cost share by Tennessee Department of Agriculture through the Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program (TAEP).  This allowed us to purchase a bed shaper, cultivator, mulch and drip tape layer, and mulch lifter.  These pieces of equipment will allow us to not only increase the efficiency of our operation but also increase the quality of our produce.

Through the use of a gravity fed irrigation system we are able to water and fertilize our produce through the use of buried drip tape which reduces the amount of water used and helps in the prevention of plant diseases.

We hope to have a mix of produce including but not limited to the following:

  • Strawberries
  • Onions
  • Leeks
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Horseradish
  • Lettuce
  • Greens
  • Radishes
  • Turnips
  • Summer and Winter Squash

  • Sweet Potatoes
